Explore our mountains and wonders of the landscapes in the south of Corsica  through amazing beech and huge pines forests, breath pure air and drink fresh water from springs, relax on warm waters

 

5 to 8-day hiking tour aiming at discovering beech forests famous for pulmonary effects, typical and so «  pittoresque » corsican villages, high plateau covered by 1000 waterholes and green grass, place where shepherds and breeders lead their animals (sheeps, goats, horses, cows and pigs) that will go in total freedom during the summer time ; you will also have time to relax on so fine sand beaches and warm sulfuring, a hiking trip with light backpack and time to relax close to hundreds- yera-old trees and mellow grasses

 

Physical condition : we will adapt the days to each participants

Level :easy / 3 to 5 hours per day

Prices for a 5 day hiking tour in a «  gîte d'étape » (dormitory) : from 665euros

from 790 euros for 6 days, from 920 euros for 7 days , from 1050 euros the 8 days

for a group of 7 persons for 8 days : 1050 euros per person, 6 pax : 1160 euros per person, 5 pax : 1300 euros per person , 4 persons : 1510 euros each

in a B&B « chambres d'hôtes » or studios for 8 days  : from 1210 euros per person in a room for 4 (low season : november to april) - 1410 euros per person in a double room (+10 euros for twin beds)

Mid season (may- june- september) : from 1310 euros per person (« family » room : 3 to 4 persons)

for a group of 7 persons : 1490 euros each, 6  persons: 1600 euros each, 5 : 1750 euros , 4 persons : 1980 euros each

extra charge for a double room :+ 25 euros, and for a single room : + 50 euros

Detailled programm

D1: Arrival at AJACCIO's Harbour or AIRPORT - Transfer to Ese's High plateau d'Ese (about 1h/1h30) : wonderful loop through an enchantress beech forest to the pozzines, 1000 waterholes'grass and we will come back along the Scaldasole Crest and the skiing resort :+/-550m – 5hours . Transfer to the Vizzavona's pass or trainstation, the middle of Corsica (about 2 hours)- overnight in a gîte d'étape, hotel or B&B

D2: The lost women trail: great hiking day among the beech trees, the forest is famous for its pulmonary effects...breath deeply! And we will climb up until a great stone statue called “Madonuccia” before getting down to the pozzi shepherds'huts ...great panormaic view on Monte D’Oru and its granitic moraine, we will continue until the pass and the small castle of Vizzavona before getting to the englishmen's waterfall and finishing the day with the feet in fresh water: +/- 700m – 5 h. 2e nuitée au gîte

D3 : Transfer to San Petru's Chapel above Zicavu's village (about 1h30): loop on Cuscionu's plateau between shepherds huts and endemic flowers, a summer paradise for goats, pigs, horses running free along nice rivers with waterholes and pozzines, a soft grass area where we will have a rest : +/-300 à 700m: 4 à 5h – we will probably meet the goats'shepherd François and finish the day in hot waters in Guitera's village before going to the charming and so pittoresque village of Serra di Scopamène

D4: loop above the village with great view on the dam, the corsican Dolomites : Bavella's needles and Alcudina'peak (2134m), we will cross several typical villages of this High Rocks Area called Alta Rocca in Corsica so we could discover built heritage between watermill, old wash house, fountains, churches and chapels : +/-300 à 700m ( 3 à 6h). 2nd night in the village or transfer to Bavella's pass

D5: Bavella's geological curiosities : constituted in towers and needles, arches and stones' amounts the corsican « dolomites » are amazing, we will get to the great pine forest until an arch called  U Compuleddu in corsican language or « the bomb'hole » in french, we can also keep going until a great panoramic view on the south of Corsica : including diffrenet eastern coasts bay and even Sardinia island ! +/-300 à 600m : 4 à 5h . Overnight in Bavella or Zonza's village

D6: we will visit the archeological site of Cuccuruzzu and get down to the nice village of Sainte Lucie de Tallano, famous for its olives' oil, to Fiumiccicoli's wine domain and the sulfuring hot waters of Caldane.

D7 : Roccapina's lion loop to meet strange petrified animals...immersion in the heart of corsican “tafonis”, granitic holes carved by water, sun, wind and salt, that shape wonderful statues, this loop in the corsican landscrub with its great smellings pass from a beach to another, both sides of the lion, at the foot of the genoesan tower. To get down to one of the most beautiful beach the steps are a bit technical but what a reward!

We can also take some time at the house of the site “ Casa di Roccapina”, a cultural break on this shepherds'site and amazing geological place: +/- 300m – 5h de marche .

We can either get back to our “gîte d'étape” or get a boat (with extracharge) to sleep in a headlight.

D8: Loop at Campomoro's bay : from the beach to the genoesan tour and along the coast for a great panoramic view on Valincu's bay : +/- 150m – 3 à 5 h. Transfer back to Ajaccio in the afternoon.
