8 to 9-day hiking tour aiming at discovering typical and so «  pittoresque » southern corsican villages, high plateau covered by 1000 waterholes and green grass, the corsican dolomites : Bavella; fine sand beaches and limestone falls of Bonifacio

 

Physical condition : we will adapt the days to each participant

Places : Big Ajaccio, Alta Rocca & Sartene's Area (Valincu bay and south part), Bonifacio

Meeting point : Ajaccio at 6,30 pm at the airport on the 27th of december 2018 – and we will get back on the 4th of January 2018 in the early afternoon

Prices for a 9 day hiking tour in a B&B « chambres d'hôtes »  :

group of 8 to 12 or 16 persons (9 days/8 nights) : 1495 euros in a double room (extracharge +10 euros par jour for twin beds)

(8 days / 7 nights  including new year's eve : 1440 euros

Options with extra charge: boat tour, yoga or qi qong lesson, foot reflexology to book at the same time as the trip

Detailled programm

D1: Thursday, the 27th of december - Arrival at AJACCIO's AIRPORT at 6,30pm and transfer to the charming B&B in the typical village of Serra Di Scopamène – dinner and overnight

D2:Friday, the 28th of december: loop above the village with great view on the dam, the corsican Dolomites : Bavella's needles and Alcudina'peak (2134m), we will cross several typical villages of this High Rocks Area called Alta Rocca in Corsica so we could discover built heritage between watermill, old wash house, fountains, churches and chapels and we will have lunch in a typical hostel: +/- 700m ( 5h)- dinner and overnight

D3: Saturday, the 29th of december: Cuscionu's high plateau : its granitic bowls chaos and sheoherds huts :Transfer (40 minutes ) to the old cross country skiing resort Bucchinera à 1523m  to cross the plateau in an amazing granitic bowls chaos to discover the shepherds huts and caves, we will have pic nic in the nature and limb up to a panoramic summit (+150/-150m ; 5 h) – regarding snow level, this day could be with snowshoes

D4 :Sunday, the30rd of december :Bavella's geological curiosities : constituted in towers and needles, arches and stones' amounts the corsican « dolomites » are amazing, we will get to the great pine forest until an arch called  U Compuleddu in corsican language or « the bomb's hole » in french, we can also keep going until a great panoramic view on the south of Corsica : including eastern coast bays and even Sardinia island ! +/-300 to 600m : 4 to 5hours – lunch in a restaurant at Bavella's pass and dinner at the restaurant of the village

D5 :Piscia di U Ghjaddu waterfall or Punta di A Vacca Morta at Ospedale's lake : nice hiking half a day to waterfall including a great cave that had been used by shepherds( +/-150m – 3h )or great loop to Punta di A Vacca Morta, a panoramic view from the summit to the 2 southern lakes, great sight on Bavella's Dolomites and even Sardinia : +/-450 to 600m – 4 to 5h – pic nic in the nature– delicious new year's eve dinner and party at our B&B

D6: Loop at Campomoro's bay : from the beach to the genoesan tour and along the coast for a great panoramic view on Valincu's bay - pic nic on a beach : +/- 150m – 3 à 5 hours

D7 : we will visit the archeological site of Cuccuruzzu and get down to the nice village of Sainte Lucie de Tallano, famous for its olives' oil, to Fiumiccicoli's wine domain and the sulfuring hot waters of Caldane.

D8: Transfer to Bonifacio: 3 to 5 hours on the calcareous cliffs to the nice city (+/-200m) with the Pertusato cape in option face to Sardinia that is only 12km far from the most southern point of Corsica - 1h boat trip along the cliffs is also possible while other persons discover the city and its citadel – when we will go back to our “village” we will make a short break at Roccapina's pass to meet strange petrified animals...immersion in the heart of corsican “tafonis”, granitic holes carved by water, sun, wind and salt, that shape wonderful statues

D9 : Transfer back to Ajaccio where we will enjoy the morning at the market or the small fishing harbour – option to a wine domain or a stop to the « bloodthirsty » peninsula – lunch is not included so you can choose a place to enjoy it before getting in the early afternoon to the airport
